Flying Cars Are Never Gonna Happen (A Post About The Boring Company)

We Shall Never Fly Cars:

From steam, to gas, to electricity, regardless of how a car has been or shall be powered, the feasibility of the commercially available personal flying vehicle is slim to none. The reasons are straight-forward:

  1. Due to inevitable occasional neglect and catastrophic mid-air vehicular failure, no commercially available brand of flying vehicle shall be powered by steam or fossil fuel, therefore electricity is necessarily the sane choice for powering flying vehicles.
  2. Due to inevitable occasional neglect and catastrophic mid-air vehicular failure, no commercially available brand of flying vehicle shall be powered by electricity if its operation and maintenance are dependent on a single civil pilot, therefore computer-automation is necessarily the sane choice for electrically powered flying vehicles.
  3. Due to the inevitably vast and intricate technological, infrastructural and navigational requirements of an unlimited personal aviation environment, it is clearly not economical for any society to invest valuable resources in a future in which millions of vehicles are flying around at the whims of civilians.
  4. Systems fail when communication breaks down. As a fallible personal aviation system shall be unacceptable, in order to ensure the successful function of a vast personal aviation system, a single, fail-safe, governing body would necessarily have absolute control over all navigational systems within and without national borders. Such a governing body would require a greater level of international cooperation than is likely to exist before civilians are ready to fly.

For the above-mentioned reasons, it is a safe assumption that we shall never have flying personal aviation. However, due to the increasing atmospheric pollution of fossil fuel-powered perishable vehicles and the unending production of such vehicles, personal transportation shall necessarily, eventually, be absolutely different from what currently sustains us. The look of things to come? Who knows!
